ADMISSION IN BAMS

Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery

The Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) is an integrated Indian degree in the medical field, awarded to students who study both modern medicine and traditional Ayurveda. Ayurveda, an ancient medical system, dates back to the Vedic period, offering not only cures but also preventive measures against recurring diseases. Ayurveda categorizes dysfunctions as Kapha (phlegm), Pitta (bile), and Vata (wind), collectively known as Dosha.

Imbalance in these doshas leads to illness, emphasizing the importance of harmony for overall health in Ayurvedic principles. BAMS integrates modern medical knowledge with the holistic approach of Ayurveda to provide a comprehensive understanding of healthcare.

The Ayurvedic medical system focuses on enhancing the body’s natural healing capacity through therapeutic interventions. Ayurvedic treatments aim to alleviate symptoms, eliminate impurities, reduce stress, enhance disease resistance, and promote overall harmony in patients’ lives. Regarded as a reliable system for healing, preventing, and rejuvenating, Ayurveda may take more time to restore patients to health, but the results are profound. BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) is an undergraduate program in this ancient medical system, emphasizing prevention and cure by harmonizing the three doshas—kapha, pitta, and vata, offering a holistic approach to well-being.
